Cedar Springs Back on the Market by Colliers International
Sydney, Australia, May 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Simon Kersten, Managing Director of Colliers International’s Wollongong office, has been invited once again to be the exclusive selling agent for the famous Cedar Springs mansion in Byron Bay.
The 46.1ha estate was owned and built by Paul and Linda Hogan. It was where the couple married and lived for 15 years before appointing Mr Kersten to sell the property in 2006.
“It was a tightly held secret for 15 years with only a select few ever setting foot inside its immaculate grounds,” said Mr Kersten.
The current owners, Duncan and Sally Mount, purchased the property for $8.1 million two and a half years ago and subsequently sold their property on Sydney’s Northern Beaches by Mr Kersten for $7.3 million.
Mr Kersten said the Mount family has maintained the property and made further improvements. “The decor and design of the home is simply breathtaking and really has to be seen to be believed.”
Located 15 minutes from Byron Bay at 66 Pine Mountain Road, Possum Creek, the eastern-most point of Australia, the home features 700 sqm of living space, five bedroom suites, seven bathrooms, a resort pool with gazebo, huge formal and informal living areas, spectacular outdoor entertaining areas and an original farm house restored as a separate guest cottage.
The secluded home, designed by Ian McKay, also comprises a private rain forest, 2km of river and creek frontage, a 2ha cabinet timber plantation, expansive landscaped grounds and views across the Hinterland and valley.
“This elegant and secluded home is one of the most beautiful in the area,” said Mr Kersten.
“It has been a fantastic home for Duncan and Sally however, they have been unable to spend as much time in the house as they would have liked as their daughters still attend a Sydney school.
“It is a rare privilege for an agent to be entrusted to sell such a magnificent property, to have the honour of being the only agent to have ever sold it and now being asked to sell it again has been fantastic,” he said.
Last year, Mr Kersten was named as the country’s best residential real estate agent by the Real Estate Institute of Australia at its annual Awards for Excellence. He was also named NSW residential sales agent of the year by the Real Estate Institute of NSW.
Mr Kersten is becoming known as the ‘real estate agent to the stars’ after being invited to handle another A-list property in July last year. Entertainment promoter Michael Edgley appointed Mr Kersten to sell his 64ha Gold Coast retreat at 39 North Road, Lower Beechmont.
