Teller Levit & Silvertrust Files First Cook County E-Claim
Chicago Collection Lawyer (Kevin Posen of Teller, Levit & Silvertrust) Inaugurated Cook County’s New E-Filing Program on Monday, May 11, 2009 in a live demonstration.
Chicago, IL, May 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of Cook County, under the leadership of The Honorable Dorothy Brown, launched a new electronic filing system program that will allow attorneys to file cases and pleadings online in the commercial calendar section of the Law Division. The Clerk’s office handled an estimated 1.7 million new cases in 2008.
Kevin Posen participated in a live demonstration of the new program at a press conference on Monday, May 11, 2009. Amongst the other county officials and press, Chief Judge Timothy Evans was also present to witness the trial of the new system, which the Clerk’s Office eventually expects to make available to the entire court.
Mr. Posen stated that he found the system easy to use and went on to say that he filed more pleadings later in the day using the system as well. Posen said that he considered the new system to be “The wave of the future” and “My firm will become proficient with the new service since it will be more convenient”.
Cook County Clerk Dorothy Brown stated the system will be more cost-efficient and provide environmental benefits by decreasing paper, toner and energy costs. Online training sessions are available on the County Clerks’ website.
