My Overstock Boutique Holds Denim Drive to Benefit Breast Cancer Research
My Overstock Boutique is consignment service for new clothing from specialty boutiques. The giant warehouse is offering its resale service to include gently used designer jeans with $5.00 of each pair sold going to benefit breast cancer research
Mebane, NC, May 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- My Overstock Boutique, http://www.MyOverstockBoutique.com has announced a “Denim Drive”, which is a consignment service offered to individuals who own gently used designer jeans. The person who consigns the jeans gets 50% of the jeans’ selling price and for each pair of the recycled jeans that My Overstock Boutique sells, $5.00 will be donated to benefit breast cancer research.
Meg Thomas, the owner of My Overstock Boutique, sells a variety of items in the 7800 sq ft warehouse located in Mebane, NC. The business’ specialty is designer clothing from Boutiques across the US, many who sell designer jeans. A boutique that needs to unload excess inventory sends My Overstock Boutique the overstock, who in turn sells it to the public.
During these difficult economic times Thomas notes that she often hears customers state that in exchange for buying a new pair of jeans, even at a discount, they feel they need to sacrifice to afford the garment.
Her solution is to offer a consignment service for gently used denim items. “If a person knows that she may be able to receive money for items she already owns, it makes it much easier to buy a new item for her wardrobe.” The recycled jeans typically sell for 1/3 of the original retail and the consignor receives 50% of the selling price.
Thomas anticipates a brisk business in the new section of her business. “I have calls every day about people wanting to buy and sell through us. I have a customer wish box full of waiting customers for specific brands,” Thomas says. Some of the name brands in high demand are Seven for All Mankind, Joe’s Jeans, Citizens of Humanity, True Religion, AG, and Lucky to name a few.
My Overstock Boutique’s warehouse is open to the public 10am-6pm Tuesday through Saturday. Used consignment items are accepted on a walk-in basis and limited to designer jeans at this time. 5$ from each pair of recycled jeans sold through Oct 2 will be donated to research for breast cancer research.
