Brilliant Sky Toys & Books® to Incorporate AblePlay® Rating System to Assess Toys for Children with Special Needs
Deer Park, IL, May 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Brilliant Sky Toys & Books® is thrilled to announce that beginning May 20th, all merchandise that has been rated by Able Play.org will be cross referenced to the AblePlay RatingTM System providing information on its use for children with special needs. This move towards becoming a greater resource for the community makes Brilliant Sky Toys & Books® a one-of-a-kind toy specialty store for All children regardless of their challenges.
“This is a huge move towards inclusion and ability awareness as it relates to children in our community with special needs,” says Patty Parcheta, Co-Owner with her husband Dave Parcheta. “We want to be a resource for families and gift-seekers looking for special toys that fit to a child’s developmental skill level. Our motto is that Play is the new Learn, so this fits right to our philosophy of helping children to the next appropriate level for their learning style and speed.”
The AblePlayTM Rating System featured at AblePlay.org is a toy rating system that provides comprehensive information on toys for children with disabilities so parents, special educators, therapists and others can make the best choices for the children in their lives with disabilities.
Brilliant Sky Toys & Books® will have print-outs of the toys designated by AblePlayTM as those appropriate for children of varying spectrum disorders including Down Syndrome, Autism, and Aspergers among others.
