Dr. Beth Hagan Trains 24 New FastTrac™ Facilitators in New York City
Bonita Springs, FL, May 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Master Facilitator Dr. Beth Hagan conducted FastTrac™ Facilitator training this past week in New York City to certify 24 new FastTrac Program Facilitators. They in turn will deliver the FastTrac program to business owners and entrepreneurs this summer. New York City is offering the FastTrac program free to all qualifying residents. Together, the City of New York and the FastTrac initiative of the Kauffman Foundation are committed to helping businesses succeed in these economic times.
Mayor Bloomberg endorsed the FastTrac program stating, “New York City’s workforce is the hardest-working and most talented in the nation, and that’s an asset we cannot afford to squander. In February, we announced 11 initiatives to promote business innovation through entrepreneurial activity, and today we are launching one of the most important – the FastTrac NewVenture® – to help foster New York City’s future entrepreneurs. Increasing the number of entrepreneurs will not only create new jobs, it will help create the companies that – when the good times return – will be ready to capitalize on new opportunities.”
The City will be offering two courses the FastTrac NewVenture program, a business-training program to help emerging entrepreneurs and the FastTrac GrowthVenture® program which will teach existing businesses how to reshape their business models in order to meet the current economic challenges. The program offers students contacts with services that will help their businesses, being able to talk with experienced coaches and successful entrepreneurs and develop a strong business plan.
The FastTrac Programs are an initiative of the nationally recognized Kauffman Foundation. Ewing Marion Kauffman, the late entrepreneur and philanthropist, establishedthe first foundation to focus on entrepreneurship education. The foundation is devoted to advancing entrepreneurship by focusing on research, education, technical assistance, and policy. Its goal is to increase the number and success rate of individuals engaged in the process of starting or growing their own business. The Foundation is based in Kansas City, Mo. and has approximately $2 billion in assets. For more information, visit: www.kauffman.org
Locally, the FastTrac Growth Venture program will be offered this summer in Estero. The program begins Monday, June 8 with program hours of 5:30 to 8:30 PM each week for 10 consecutive weeks. Scholarships of 50% are available to local businesses upon completion of the program. For more information about the summer program and scholarships, visit www.FastTracOfFlorida.org or call Dr. Beth Hagan at 239-947-8085.
