New York, NY, May 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 rekindled the somewhat complex concept of “bonus depreciation” (50% 1st year) for select new “qualified” properties which were put into service before 09. The key issued addressed in this revenue procedure are: what is eligible as qualified property? & what are the computational aspects?
Follow up Revenue Procedure 2009-16 Aims to address certain issues not covered in 2008-65. Some of the key issues it addresses are: how you make the election? And how do you determine which rules apply as there are different rules for different governing elections in different fiscal calendar years. Another key issue is control groups making the election and how they make go about computing and allocating the election. And finally what about reporting to partnerships & effect of election on S corporations?
The Knowledge Group has assembled a panel of key thought leaders and experts to help you make more thoroughly understand 2008-65 and 2009-16.
They will address the following key issues:
- The property eligible for this election.
- The time and manner in which to make the election.
- When not to claim the deduction.
- The effect on partnerships making this election.
- Up to the minute regulatory updates.
