Faithdean Goes Live with Workspace ix
Faithdean to use Workspace to centralise project data and improve security.
Nottingham, United Kingdom, May 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Faithdean Plc have implemented and gone live with Union Square Software’s latest version of their market leading software solution, Workspace ix. Workspace ix is a new and improved version of Workspace with enhanced features and facilities and a new user interface. All Workspace users are currently being upgraded to Workspace ix, Faithdean are the first new user to go live with the system.
The Faithdean Group is an established building, refurbishment and fit out contractor located in the South East, with a turnover of £102m last year. The majority of their work is on challenging projects within the city and the West End of London. The main driver that led Faithdean to review the market was a need to better manage their Exchange and Outlook storage. IT Manager Dan Warner comments “We first became aware of Union Square as a solution to manage our problems with email; when we saw the full scope of Workspace we realised that it could also help us more widely with issues of information control and data sharing. Workspace could enable us to achieve one universal way of working, as well as solving our data security issues”.
Whilst Faithdean had used project extranets in the past they recognised that they weren’t sufficient as a solution to organise information within their business. “Workspace was different because it offered a cradle to grave solution to manage all the content that exists in relation to a project from bid phase through to handover. Union Square also won out due to their experience in the refurbishment sector and the references they could provide from companies in the industry; the positivity from long standing clients was very encouraging.”
The initial launch of Workspace was designed to address the needs of the surveyors and site based staff first. They are already seeing benefits from the centralisation of information and the ability to access information on-site. In the office people love the drag and drop email functionality which allows them to quickly remove emails from Outlook into Workspace so they can be accessed by everyone who needs to see them. Other features such as the global contacts database have made a big difference to working lives. “Duplication of data has been greatly reduced and people spend less time searching for correct contact details or asking others to find information for them. Its gives each individual user control by giving them access to all the information they need to do their job.”
Commenting on the implementation process Dan Warner has been impressed with Union Square: “From the beginning they have handled the implementation process openly and honestly and have kept us on track and to schedule. As a business partner they have been excellent.”
