Colliers International Wins Major Management Contract
The Bankwest Contract Marks the Second Major Real Estate Management Contract for Colliers International This Year.
Sydney, Australia, May 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Colliers International has been appointed to manage Bankwest’s retail portfolio, consisting of more than 400 sites nationally.
The announcement highlights that while the slow sales and leasing market may be putting the pinch on some property services groups, diversification and investment during boom time into areas such as corporate real estate management is paying off for others.
The Bankwest appointment is the second major corporate real estate contract for Colliers International this year, following the appointment by Australia Post for management of its national real estate portfolio.
The new management agreement includes retail branches, small commercial offices, ATMs and residential properties. The majority of the 400 sites are in Western Australia with a presence on the eastern seaboard.
“This appointment is testament to the ongoing high level of service we have been providing to our major corporate clients over a number of years,” said Dylan O’Donnell, National Director of Real Estate Management at Colliers International.
"While other sectors of the market may have slowed, we are seeing increased interest and demand for proven management strategy and direction from major corporates across the country," he said.
"This is the time when our services can deliver some of the greatest value by increasing efficiency whilst still delivering a high level of service."
The Bankwest appointment also follows the renewal of the group’s management agreement with Commonwealth Bank of Australia, a long-term contract that has seen Colliers International represent CBA for more than a decade.
Mr O’Donnell said the appointments have contributed to Colliers International’s strong growth in its Real Estate Management business.
“We have created about 25 new positions this year across our Real Estate Management business, with more than half of these new positions being attributable to major outsourcing appointments with fully dedicated employees,” he said.
“We are proud of this achievement and believe we have the right platform to continue to build on this success.”
