rEvolution Announces Acquisition of Digital and Youth Culture Agency Birdsong 3
Independent Sports Marketing and Media Agency rEvolution Expands Digital, Creative and Youth Culture Departments
Chicago, IL, May 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- rEvolution, the Chicago-based integrated sports marketing and media services agency, announces that Birdsong 3, a leading digital and youth culture agency, is joining the rEvolution team. Led by industry veteran, Jim Spinello, Birdsong 3 is a long-time Chicago-based brand strategy, digital media and event execution agency. By obtaining Birdsong 3’s expertise, rEvolution increases its current, marketing service offerings in the rapidly growing areas of digital content, social media, brand strategy and event marketing. As part of rEvolution, the Birdsong 3 team will provide its current clients with the increased capacity to scale their integrated marketing and lifestyle campaigns.
“For more than a decade Jim and Birdsong 3 have been leaders in assimilation strategies, content production, social media strategy and sponsorship development opportunities for their clients,” said John Rowady, President, rEvolution. “We feel Birdsong 3 expands our larger marketing integration strategy, allowing us to offer our clients deeper expertise in areas that are currently experiencing rapid growth – digital content, social media, creative services and youth marketing.”
“It’s great to be joining an independent agency that has the scale to broaden our role with our clients and, at the same time, understands what it takes to deliver a brand’s message through non-traditional platforms,” said Jim Spinello, former Birdsong 3 President and now a member of the executive strategy team and group head of Digital Services and Youth Culture. “Our team and our clients are very excited about how our collective skill sets and cultures will afford them a significant advantage in today’s highly fragmented landscape. Our focus on unique thought, branded content, exceptional creative and the best ways to deliver them are synonymous with the rEvolution brand.”
rEvolution’s announcement that it is expanding its digital group and creative services group addresses a growing trend where clients’ are shifting a portion of their traditional media into online platforms. This tendency is supported by the results of a recently announced marketing decision-makers survey, designed by Jupiter Research in partnership with Verse Group, where they asked about the top priorities for marketers in 2009. According to the survey the top priorities for marketers were first, the need to demonstrate marketing ROI, and second, managing marketing integration across online and traditional media. Additionally, according to a CMO study released just last month by Heidrick & Struggles International and Digital Scientists, 45% of those surveyed indicated they felt the need to turn to outside partners and agencies to fill their internal digital marketing gaps.
“Staying on top of what’s working and what’s not is critical,” said Brian Quarles, former Birdsong 3 Creative Director and now Senior Director, Creative Services at rEvolution. “More users are gravitating towards both brands and websites that offer specialized content. Joining rEvolution enables us to continue to offer our clients programs that are fully integrated beyond traditional tactics and the ability to continue to explore sport and lifestyle in online and digital extensions.”
