IRPW’S Yomin Postelnik Launches Autism Health and Wellness Magazine
Launch of Advocacy Magazine for Special Needs Community
Pompano Beach, FL, May 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In April, IRPW and company president Yomin Postelnik launched a new magazine, Autism Health and Wellness. The magazine is designed to explore health issues and promote advocacy for the special needs community. Postelnik has previously developed several programs for teens with autism and has worked closely with the South Florida non-profit community since 2004.
The magazine is an extension of AutismHealthandWellness.com, which has been a lead online advocate for Autism issues, advocacy and information since last year and which has developed a significant presence on Twitter and other online networks.
The official launch of the magazine took place earlier this month at Boca Raton’s Therapy Spot Inc. It was attended by therapists, prominent physicians, advocates, local political leaders and members of the South Florida business community.
Postelnik explained the reason for the project: “Special needs advocacy is in need of a boost. The reality of the situation is that for every other societal challenge, there are healthy people who’ve experienced that challenge first hand and who then go on to be advocates. Special needs children rarely have that opportunity and their parents are often time strapped. It’s up to the community at large to speak out on behalf of this most deserving population.”
Autism Health and Wellness Magazine is designed to explore healthy living, innovative dietary research and to provide families of special needs children with up to date program information and even budgeting tips, the latter being a natural for Postelnik, who previously authored and developed a financial literacy course for teens that was accepted as an optional supplemental curriculum by Broward School Board Superintendent’s Screening Committee in 2007. The magazine also features articles from top advocates throughout the nation, including a piece by Louis Geigerman, founder of the advocacy group Narda.org.
