The Collective Objective is proud to present the world premiere of Kyle Baxter and Jon Crefelds’s I Hate Love as part of the 10th annual Midtown International Theatre Festival, directed by Mark Duncan.
I Hate Love tells the story of Kira and Cruz, two young lovers about to get married. Hot shot pilot's from Cruz's Navy squadron are coming, but not everyone is happy about it, and what exactly is going on between the best man and Kira's cousin? It's all a little queer in this modern day, gender-bending interpolation of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing.
I Hate Love will be performed at Dorothy Strelsin Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, part of the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex between 8th & 9th Avenues, on July 13 8:30pm, July 17 5:30pm, July 19 7:30pm, July 25 11am, July 28 8:30pm, and August 1st 5pm.
Mark Duncan (Director) American Jataka Tales (Manhattan Theatre Source), Not the Ravine (Brooklyn Playwrights Collective), No Freud Please and The Staining of the Shrewd (Manhattan Repertory Theatre), Asst Director We Are the Lawmakers (NYC Fringe Festival), Tooth Fairy/Sugar Daddy and Bridges (The Garage Ensemble). Regional: Asst Director Souvenir, Relatively Speaking, and Being Alive (Westport Country Playhouse). Other: Director Bent, The Memory of Water, Asst Director Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, Songs for a New World (Elon University).

To contribute what we have; to listen, learn, lead, love, inspire and build faith, to be more than one, to take upon ourselves, the strength of the many and its needs, to serve the collective objective in all its forms.
