PinkSlipMixers to Provide Interactive Seminar on How Job Seekers Are to Dress for Interviews
PinkSlipMixers.com have asked iT Jeans to inspire job seekers to dress professionally and fashionable to interviews.
Hermosa Beach, CA, May 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Los Angeles-based denim maker, !iT Jeans, is providing hope that America can get through these challenging times by giving the gift of style. Partnering with PinkSlipMixers.com, a grass-roots organization of unemployed professionals that provides unique “pink slip party” networking events, !iT Jeans will continue their G.I.F.T. Movement called “Survival of the Fittest Initiative,” by providing PinkSlipMixers attendees the expertise on how to dress for success to interviews, and how to utilize social media as a tool to finding a job. The daytime beach job networking event will be May 26, 2009 at Paciugo Gelato and Caffe in Hermosa Beach, CA.
While the G.I.F.T Movement’s core focus are young professionals, Kimmy Song, CEO of !iT Jeans, says, “At our first joint event with PinkSlipMixers.com in April 2009, we witnessed the positive affects of our campaign to offer hope to job seekers, both young and seasoned, by providing them with a pair of designer denim jeans. We noticed that we could also provide another benefit to the community by teaching them how to improve their personal style to bolster their physical confidence during their job interviewing. For the PinkSlipMixers.com event on May 26th, we will have a local style coach on hand to talk about the importance of dressing correctly for a job interview to match that corporate culture. Our Survivial of the Fittest Initiative is more than physical dress but an entire physical attitude improvement for job seekers. We feel it is the right thing to do and will inspire other like-minded companies to follow suit.”
The PinkSlipMixers.com event is also more than the typical pink slip party, a popular and growing trend around the country. Job seekers at PinkSlipMixer events utilize online social media to “Twitter” career criteria along with their Linkedin.com resume in hopes of maximizing their job search exposure. Edwin Duterte, the creator of PinkSlipMixers.com, explains, “We appreciate the efforts of !iT Jeans and to “Pay It Forward” to them, our members will be Twittering and sharing the ‘Survival of the Fittest’ and the G.I.F.T. Movement with others.
“As a job seeker, I'm concentrating on my job search and keeping my ears open for job opportunities for me and fellow seekers. Often times, I forget the importance of first physical appearance and the organizers of the GIFT Movement reminds me that I also need to work on my initial impressions to hiring managers.” says Edwin Duterte.
