Go Large Records Gives Back to Community
Go Large Records sponsors one local band in commmunity and offers free marketing.
Orlando, FL, May 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Go Large Records announced their participation in the ‘Orlando Bands Next Big Thing Contest.’ By offering one month of free press and publicity to one deserving local band.
Over the next few weeks there will be twenty different bands competing for the title of “Orlando’s Next Big Thing” and Go Large Records will have their hand in the development of one of those bands. From judging to full on development, Go Large Records gets to sift though the talent in Central Florida.
“This is our way of assisting artists that can not afford the marketing component of their career,” Derek Jiles, Vice President of Marketing said. “Many artists will spend their money on music production and recording and when it comes time to sell the music, their fund base is exhausted. We are giving them the opportunity to win a solid marketing package.”
Cali Sky, one of Go Large Records Senior Business Developers will be on hand to judge the second round of competition. Sky is looking for bands that offer marketability, talent, appearance, lyrical content and overall sound quality. Ben Gardner of Orlandobands.com will be judging as well on the same criteria.
With over 250 submissions per week, Go Large Records encounters some great talent but can not fulfill all the requests for consultations, marketing, distribution, press and airplay because the artists lack of funds. Many artists are resistant to the new music scene and still expect a label or a commission based management firm to pick them up and ‘believe in them’, but long gone are those days.
“Labels expect to receive a talented musician all wrapped up and delivered. They want a press kit, airplay, certain number of Myspace plays, gigs booked and Cd’s sold,” Jiles said.”Many artists do not have that and often get rejected when they could score a record deal or get on that management roster,” Jiles said. “We do that for the artist. We prep them and get all the details ready so when we pitch them to a label or a firm they get picked up.”
Go Large Records offers everything from tour set up and support, press, publicity, airplay, TV and film scoring, label shopping and consultation and development. They work with artists that are featured in USA Today, VH1, MTV, iarly! Larry Flint Hustler videos, CSI, The Hills and many other forms of publicity and entertainment.
Go large Records is also sponsoring a $20,000 contest to three deserving artists that will propel their career into the next level or phase of their development. Artists can enter right on line at the Go Large Records website.
