Middle East eGovernment Leaders Build Best Practice ICT Services
Government Technology World Middle East brings together 25 regional speakers for the region’s premier eGovernment conference.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 10, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The digital age has revolutionised communication between government, citizens and businesses. Meeting the challenge of the digital age is a daunting task, but one that must be met head on to transform government to citizen and business services, improve government efficiency, increase national productivity and international competitiveness.
In the past few years great leaps have been taken to transform government services and public administration across the Middle East. The time has now come to take stock and analyse the standard of ICT-enabled government across the region and to identify the best means of building eGovernment capacity.
Government Technology World Middle East 2006 will be held in Dubai on 4th – 5th December 2006, and will bring together for the first time the Middle East’s eGovernment leaders to discuss how to capitalise on ICT technologies to enhance extra- and intra-government services. With speakers from 18 countries, this is a must-attend event for those developing eGovernment within all tiers of government.
According to Terrapinn Ltd, the organisers of Government Technology World Middle East, this two-day conference will deliver leading strategic presentations, case studies, discussion panels and networking opportunities for executives and IT implementers responsible for evaluating, selecting and deploying ICT solutions within the public sector.
“As the global race continues to become the first true “Information Society”, the Middle East is making considerable investments into eGovernment,” said Julian Stansmore, conference director of Government Technology World Middle East. “Governments in the region also understand that to participate in the global economy moving forward they need to diversify and expand their economies - governments in the region have recognised that eGovernment is a tool to achieve this aim”. Addressing these issues at the conference will be H.E. Sultan Sayeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Governmental Sector Development and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Supervision of the Telecommunications Sector in the United Arab Emirates.
Government Technology World Middle East is organised by Terrapinn Ltd, and is the 4th in a global series of ICT government events already successfully launched in Europe, Australia and Africa. The conference is supported by Arab Advisors Group, the ifG.CC – Institute for eGovernment, and the World Summit Awards.
