International Workshop «Heat of Combustion Tests for Building Materials» (EN ISO 1716) Will be Held in Minsk, Belarus
Minsk, Belarus, May 28, 2009 --(PR.com)-- International workshop «Heat of combustion tests for building materials» (EN ISO 1716) will be held on July 8th 2009 in Minsk, Republic of Belarus. The workshop is initiated by the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and Research Institute of Fire Safety and Emergencies (RIFS) of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Belarus.
The workshop will be dedicated to the topics of test results and metrological certification of equipment, world experience in the field of fire tests of building materials and analysis of national standards. Among the topics for discussion will be test results for multilayer materials on the example of composite aluminium multilayer panel according to EN ISO 1716; preparation of samples for testing, heat of combustion testing and assessment of testing, heat of combustion testing and assessment of test results; bomb calorimeter calibration, metrological provision requirements to testing apparatus, calibration of samples; international and national standards requirements to heat of combustion tests; training courses and workshops on heat of combustion tests; equipment producers.
The bomb calorimeter is the most common device for measuring the heat of combustion or calorific value of a material. With this apparatus a test specimen of specified mass is burned under standardized conditions. The heat of combustion is determined under these conditions is calculated on the basis of the observed temperature rise while taking account of heat loss.
The workshop will run alongside with 5th International Scientific and Practical Conference «Emergency Situations: Prevention and Elimination-2009» and «Fire and Rescue» exhibition. Research Institute of Fire Safety and Emergencies (RIFS) of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus is happy to invite representatives of scientific world, researchers and private sector to take part in the event. Representatives from USA, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Slovenia, Australia have already confirmed their participation.
