Davison Design and Development's The BikeBoard now featured on select Capri Sun drink packs and commercials.
Pittsburgh, PA, August 10, 2006 --(PR.com)-- An award-winning Pittsburgh-developed product was recently launched in a national advertising campaign with one of the world’s largest food and beverage companies.
Davison Design and Development’s The BikeBoard are now featured on up to 66 million Kraft Foods’ Capri Sun Fruit Wave Berry Breeze drink packs. The unique hybrid bicycle skateboard, which was featured in the July 10 issue of BusinessWeek magazine as a bronze Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA) winner, is also showcased in Capri Sun commercials shown on Nickelodeon television. The BikeBoard is also featured on the front and back of several boxes in the Fruit Wave line.
The promotion is part of the "The Great Capri Sun BikeBoard Give-a-Way,” where up to 1,000 Capri Sun patrons can instantly win a custom Capri Sun Cooler BikeBoard along with exclusive Capri Sun Kid discount codes found on specially marked packages of Capri Sun. Kids can log on to www.caprisun.com and enter their code for a chance to instantly win and or unlock exclusive discounts available only for Capri Sun Kids.
The deal was made through Southern California’s The BikeBoard Company, which manufacturers and distributes the line of products developed by Davison. Kraft Foods, the maker of Capri Sun, which can be found at www.caprisun.com, is the world’s second-largest food and beverage company with 2005 net revenues of more than $34 billion.
The BikeBoard concept was conceived by Southern California’s John Iavarone. BikeBoards are sold locally in Dick’s Sporting Goods. The BikeBoards have made their way into various sporting goods and toy store chains, as well as being featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, The Gear Guru, American Chopper and the 2005 remake of The Bad News Bears.
Additionally, the Davison-developed Hover Creeper won a silver in the IDEA, co-sponsored by BusinessWeek and the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). The competition recognized 27 gold, 39 silver and 42 bronze award winners from 20 countries.
