First East African Certified as Master of Revenue Assurance Management (CM-RAM)
Chicago, IL, May 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Global Revenue Assurance Professional Association (GRAPA) is proud to announce the certification of its first Master of Revenue Assurance Management from East Africa.
Mark, the first East African to certify, lives in a country that has experienced decades of political upheaval and violence. Partly as a result of that, he works in a very competitive environment, one that has seen spectacular growth since 2000, when telecommunications companies in his country were privatized. On the market situation in East Africa and the challenges he faces, Mark talks about how “There is a tremendous push to market services; with huge spending on promotion, yet a high churn rate and low ARPU.”
The sense of achievement felt by Mark upon certifying as a Master of Revenue Assurance Management was unmistakable, especially when his home country is understood as an environment where expatriates have often occupied managerial positions. “Certification brings with it a sense of accomplishment for me,” Mark says. Rob Mattison, GRAPA’s President added that “It is easy to under-estimate the personal commitment our members go through in order to get certified. There is a significant outlay of time and money to obtain the necessary training, testing and employment verification. Yet the sense of accomplishment they feel at the end always makes it worthwhile.” Mark received his certification at GRAPA’s Madrid Training Event.
Having previously certified revenue assurance professionals from Nigeria in West Africa, GRAPA is pleased to expand the diverse pool of individuals and nationalities who have attained professional accreditation in line with GRAPA’s internationally ratified standards. “While GRAPA has always prided itself on the broad set of regions and nationalities represented by our membership, Africa has proved itself to be a real hotbed of revenue assurance innovation and activity,” said Mike Sullivan, GRAPA’s Community Director.
With a membership drawn from over 152 countries, and over 300 of its 2300+ members already registered for certification, GRAPA is looking forwards to many more “firsts” as it continues a steady march to offer professional accreditation to revenue assurance practitioners across the globe.
