Award-Winning Financial Planner Partners with Annapolis-Based Private Wealth Asset Management Firm to Create Hopkins Investment Management
An award-winning international financial planner and money manager is making his financial planning services available in America by co-founding Hopkins Investment Management in Annapolis.
Annapolis, MD, May 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Rob Spanjaard, an award-winning money manager and financial planner from South Africa, is making his expertise available to the U.S market for the first time by joining with an Annapolis-based private wealth management asset firm to form Hopkins Investment Management (http://www.hopkinsim.com).
Since its inception in 2004, Spanjaard’s South African based Rezco Fund has achieved a compound return of almost 17 percent more than the S&P 500. Additionally, he and his fellow fund managers recently won prestigious industry awards, the most significant being a Morningstar Top Fund Award. Morningstar is internationally acknowledged as the leading retail investment rating company.
Spanjaard is also one of the few money mangers who took his clients out of the markets at the start of last year.
By merging with the Annapolis-based investment management firm to create Hopkins Investment Management, Spanjaard is now using his knowledge to assist those in the Mid-Atlantic regional area.
“I am honored to be part of the Hopkins Investment Management team,” Spanjaard says. “They are knowledgeable and proactive, and really care about the people for whom they are providing financial planning and investment management. It has been an easy transition and I look forward to providing smart, useful advice to all our clients.”
Spanjaard co-founded Hopkins Investment Management with Martin Hopkins, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor, Certified Financial Planner, and board member of the Northeast division of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). Hopkins formerly ran ML Hopkins & Co., LLC.
The new firm provides private wealth asset management in the form of investment management and financial planning, such as retirement planning, estate planning, and college planning for the Mid-Atlantic regional area, including Washington, D.C., New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland.
“Martin [Hopkins] and I believe that adding a solid understanding of emerging markets to our detailed knowledge of local markets will give our clients the edge in the years to come,” Spanjaard adds.
