Quub Makes Status Updates More Convenient with New Features
IM Updates, Star Tagging, Blackberry Applications and International Support Mean Increased Functionality for Users.
Irvine, CA, June 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- quub, a new tool designed to make continuous status updates quick and painless, has added several new features that make it even easier to use from anywhere. New functionality includes the ability to update quub status via instant messaging, “starring,” a way to tag a contact or conversation, new Blackberry applications for users on the go and international alphabetic characters for quub users across the globe.
IM:
In an effort to increase quub’s ease of use anywhere anytime, quub is now integrated with all major IM clients. Through quub’s IM integration, users add “quubie,” the quub AI, to their IM buddy list. When a user wants to update his or her status on quub.com, she or he sends quubie an IM with commas separating the three different quub fields – “Where, What, Whatever” – and quubie updates their quub status. For instance, a user may IM quubie “In the conference room, giving a presentation, do not disturb” and quubie will automatically change the user’s status. quub’s IM integration supports the major IM clients including GTalk, AIM, Yahoo! and MSN.
Starring: (Notifications)
The quub team has added the ability to “tag” a contact or a conversation with a star. This helps a user rapidly reconfigure and refocus on conversations and people that are important at a given moment – for instance, if a user needs to single out a work conversation from those of friends and family. Users can tag contacts or conversations by clicking on the gray star on the right of the contact field or on the left of an open discussion field. By doing this users can filter their contact lists and discussions so that they only see the tagged items. They can also enable notifications for tagged items. The notifications can be set by looking under “Settings” -> “Notifications.”
Blackberry Application:
quub has recently added a mobile BlackBerry application for the Bold, 8800 Series, Curve 8300 and 8900 and the touch screen Storm. The quub BlackBerry application allows users to enter personalized presence and status updates, use point and click status suggestions, incorporating machine learning, to make updates instant for contacts on quub, Twitter, Facebook and IM. This application is available for download at quub.com or the BlackBerry app store.
quub currently supports BlackBerry and Google Android, with additional mobile platforms being supported in the coming weeks.
International Support:
In response to demand from international quub users, the quub team has completed an internationalization update from end-to-end through the system. The quub platform has now incorporated support for various alphabets and symbols beyond the Latin alphabet, including Cyrillic, Chinese and Japanese to spur and support further global adoption of quub. quubie, the machiene learning quub “robot” also support learning status messages in non-English languages.
