Actually, this is only a recent phenomenon. In the past, music composed by computers never sounded like it could have been made by a person. They weren’t fooling anyone. Even now, most still aren’t. Only the latest developments in expert systems make that happen.
About the Developer
Gregory Alan Turner received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a music emphasis and worked toward his master’s degree in music composition at Keimyung University in South Korea. He has given lectures on found and handmade musical instruments as well as the gamelan music of Indonesia.
Recordings: 27 compositions for the Resplendent Garden of Contemplation/Gongchime Rainforest project with Aparna Panshikar, world music vocalist of the year in both Korea and India. The developer is available for interview. Photos and screenshots are available on request.
