Edgar Allan Poe - Limited Edition Life Mask

Kent, United Kingdom, June 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- This time Jake has moved away from the heroes of war for which he has become celebrated and turned his attention to the master of mystery and the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe.

2009 will see a year long series of celebrations and events around the world to mark Poe's 200th anniversary.

There will be an initial run of 200 signed by Jake signed by the sculptor and all masks will be numbered and come with a personalised certificate also hand signed by Jake.

The masks which are made of fibre backed resin are originally sculpted from clay from which a silicon mould was taken the fibre glass is pored in with the resin once hardened the copy is given the gothic finish all of which is carefully and painstakingly done by hand.

Jake: "I hope that Poe fans around the world will appreciate the hours of thought, time and effort I have put in to creating a piece of art that pays tribute to one of the most important and influential writers we have ever seen."

Jake has previously created a sculptors for actor Patrick Stewart, Monty Python's Terry Jones and one time Dr Who Tom Baker to name but a few and intends to continue to take commissioned pieces whilst pursuing the literary theme a little further with a collection of models and sculptures based on the stories of Sherlock Holmes already in the planning stages.
