Full Throttle Intermedia Awarded for Medical Documentary
Telly award selection committee honors Full Throttle Intermedia for an educational piece for James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital.
Tampa, FL, June 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Full Throttle Intermedia (FTI) is proud to announce receiving their fourth Telly Award for video production. FTI was awarded the Bronze Telly for outstanding achievement in the documentary titled Focus: Episode One, Blast Injuries, which provides VA medical staff in-depth information on blast injuries and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), the signature wounds of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online film and video. The Telly Awards receives over 13,000 entries annually. FTI executives recently presented a commemorative statue to Dr. Steven G. Scott in honor of his involvement in developing the award-winning entry.
“I am totally surprised; getting this statue is hard to believe,” said Dr. Scott, Director of the Tampa Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital, which is one of four facilities in the country designed to provide intensive rehabilitative care to veterans and service members who experienced severe injuries. “The award is for the individuals who had the courage to tell their story, and it was the real stories of real heroes.”
FTI worked closely with Dr. Scott, the hospital’s staff, and the wounded soldiers to develop the 18-minute documentary serving as a tool to help VA medical staff spot hidden symptoms and provide correct treatments for blast related injuries. The documentary is divided into three phases, allowing the wounded soldiers to provide firsthand accounts of the life-changing occurrences, including details on how they were injured, the trauma to their bodies, and their inspiring road to recovery.
“These soldiers have unmatched bravery both on the battlefield and in recovery from their injuries,” said Craig Miller, president of FTI, who produces videos for hospitals, educational programs, and corporate clients. “Their will to live and courage shines through as they heal and move forward with their lives.”
