New Emerald Brand 100% Biodegradable Facial Tissue

Bagasse is a fibrous residue remaining after sugar cane stalks are crushed to extract their juice, and is currently used as a renewable resource in the manufacture of pulp and paper products and building materials. After the sugar cane is juiced, the use of the fiber waste provides a value-added product from what is generally considered a waste product. When sugar cane fiber is turned into products normally made from paper, an additional benefit is the elimination of the pollution from the normal burning of the pulp.
