Online Research Reveals Growing “Try Before You Buy” Trend

Voucher codes website finds shoppers use High Street for research.

Birmingham, United Kingdom, June 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- According to new research conducted by WOW Voucher Codes, 77.5% of British consumers research many of their big purchases on the High Street only to later try and save money by finding the products online for a cheaper price.

The research shows that around 80% of participants preferred to view and in some cases try out the items and products that they considered as being big investments, before logging onto the internet to try and save money by buying the products online.

The research also revealed that many people were using online voucher codes in order to save even more money on their purchases. 57% of the consumers planned this strategy in order to save money, proving that this “try before you buy” method of shopping is a growing trend.

Matthew Lovett, founder of WOW Voucher Codes, commented: “More costly purchases such as digital cameras, laptops and MP3 players seem to be at the core of this new shopping trend.

“However, other areas of retail are starting to be affected too, such as fashion, music and DVDs. It seems that many consumers want to be able to see the product and in many cases handle it before they buy it – but with the added discount that they can gain from buying it on the internet.”

WOW Voucher Codes is a new website dedicated to offering online shoppers the best promotional discount codes available from both well known online and High Street retailers.

The website offers up to 70% discount on either the High Street or standard listed online prices from brand name retailers, including Asda, Argos, AVON, Dixons, Boots, Currys, hotels.com, lastminute.com, Littlewoods, Jessops and Play.com.
