Mexican Artist Luis Iga to Help Miami Women in Need by Donating Photography
The event will be held at the Offices of K & L | Gates in Miami, FL on Thursday June 4th from 6:30-8:30p.m. EDT.
Miami, FL, June 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Artist and Creative Director Luis Iga will be donating a piece of art from his latest series, "Him | Her," for silent auction. The proceeds will benefit the Women's Fund and programs that provide legal assistance and advocacy to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. The auction will take place at "RAISE THE BAR," an annual fundraising event hosted by Miami's young legal professionals. The event will be held at the Offices of K & L | Gates in Miami, FL on Thursday June 4th from 6:30-8:30p.m. EDT. Since 2005, RAISE THE BAR has raised more than $100,000 in grants to community organizations.
Iga is donating a photograph from his twenty-piece series, "Him | Her," which debuted in Miami last month. The artist selected the photograph "Restless" because "it represents the fear and insecurity a woman might feel in the course of an abusive relationship," he says. "This doesn't need to be the case. With the help of Women's Fund, I hope to see an end to the vicious cycle of abusive relationships that women frequently find themselves in."
The complete series is available to view online at www.enVisionFineArt.com, or at the gallery by appointment only. enVision also donates ten percent of all proceeds from Iga's artwork to SoBe Arts, a Miami foundation dedicated to developing arts education and performance institute in the community.
