Grand Traverse Yacht Club Hosts 12th Annual Hound Dog Regatta Regatta and Festivities Open to the Public

Traverse City, MI, June 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The event will kickoff on Friday with the Rain Gutter Regatta, sure to be a lively race with lots of laughs, sponsored by Bay Breeze Yacht Charters. Build your boat and blow it down the rain gutter. Prizes will be awarded to the racers who are able to get their sailboats down the rain gutters the fastest.

Official race day begins Saturday morning. Racers, participants and spectators are encouraged to stay for the all you can eat pig roast on Saturday night. The pig roast starts at 7:00 and is $20 per person or $10 a ticket for the Eric Stone Band who will be performing Saturday evening.

The Eric Stone Band is Caribbean music at its best. The Calypso type Jimmy Buffetesque band will make all parrot heads feel they are at home in Margaritaville.

Races continue Sunday morning and festivities will conclude with awards to placing racers and door prizes.

The annual Hound Dog Regatta is open to the public and is a fun family friendly event.

There will be prizes and swag provide by this year’s regatta sponsors, including Baybreeze Yacht Charters, The Marine Life, Snoloha, Mount Gay Rum, Manitou Boatworks & Engineering, Global Marine Insurance,
