Brand Henko Celebrates World Environment Day ‘Responsibly’

Chennai, India, June 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The company came out with a ‘responsibility’ offer for every buyer of the new Henko Stain Champion with anti-bacterial neem. Across select stores, every purchaser today was given a neem sapling with the advice to plant it appropriately at home or in the surroundings. This initiative was kick started internally with employees being gifted a ‘responsibility – neem tree sapling’.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jayant Singh, Managing Director, Henkel India Limited said, “World Environment Day is the best time to give back to nature. Through this offer on Brand Henko, we wish to encourage people to plant and nurture trees for long-term well being.”

With this initiative, Brand Henko reached out to Henkel employees, customers and consumers to plant a tree and the need to act responsibly towards the environment.

Henko is the first environment friendly detergent to be launched in the Indian market. Henkel India Limited recently introduced the new Henko Stain Champion with anti-bacterial neem in the Indian market.

Through an extensive research conducted in India and consumer feedback, Henkel India found that bacteria and germ protection for all clothes is a high priority for consumers. This led to the innovation of Henko’s anti-bacterial qualities which not only cleans laundry perfectly but also kills 99.9% germs and bacteria. The new Henko Stain Champion with anti-bacterial neem comes with the promise of delivering stain free and germ free laundry.
