Analogous to our times, Producer Harry Kupfer sees the cycle as a parable of humanity’s destructive greed and nature ravaged by human technology as realized by his use of semi- abstract sets and direction. Betreand de Billy directs Wagner’s epic work through the use of these sets and the advanced stage machinery of Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The programs in the Wagner Ring Cycle include, Das Rheingold, Die Walkure, Siegfried and Gotterdammerung, starring Matti Salminen, John Treleaven, Falk Struckmann, Linda Watson, Wolfgang Rauch and an exceptional supporting cast.
