Volunteer with Ghana’s Leading Disabled Rehabilitation Centre
Ikando is recruiting volunteers and Interns for the Accra Rehabilitation Centre. They are looking for people with an interest in helping persons with disabilities to join their team.
New York, NY, June 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Accra Rehabilitation Centre aims to train people with disabilities (PWDs) in employable skills to enable them live independent and dignified lives in Society. Currently, there are thirty (30) people at the centre being trained in carpentry, joinery, tailoring and designing, rural craftwork and shoemaking.
Currently, the Accra Rehabilitation Centre is looking for a marketing and business development officer, a sales and fundraising officer, fashion/sewing instructors, and arts and crafts instructors.

Ikando provides skilled volunteers and interns to organisations in Ghana, West Africa. Their objective is to help more people gain the life changing, life affirming experiences that volunteering can give. They are committed to enabling skill transfer, enabling organisations in the developing world to access different skill sets and to helping volunteers realize the value they can add using the skills they hold.
Ikando hopes their volunteers will become responsible global citizens as a result of their experience with Ikando, promoting the need for social change and raising awareness in their home communities on the issues they encountered. Africa has a lot of offer but also needs support, the support it rightfully deserves.
