SteadyRain Launches New Ben Hur Construction Website
St. Louis, MO, June 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- St. Louis based internet strategy, design and development agency, SteadyRain, recently designed, developed and launched an innovative and highly-functional new website for Ben Hur Construction. Following an intensive consulting engagement with Ben Hur, SteadyRain was able to create a website that “…rivals any construction company’s site I have seen”, said Kent Caruthers, Project Manager at Ben Hur Construction and Steady Rain’s primary contact for the website’s development.
Ben Hur Construction approached SteadyRain with the need to better represent their company on the Web. Ben Hur not only wanted an aesthetically engaging website, but one that provided a tool that would allow Ben Hur to make content updates easily and quickly to the site. The ability to add new and existing project pictures to their online portfolio, related news stories, services information and documentation of ever-changing safety precautions and procedures were all necessary to keep their website current and topical for their steel erection, steel fabrication and general contracting divisions.
As Ben Hur is celebrating its 100th year of Service Excellence in 2009, SteadyRain was also asked to design their anniversary logo and an interactive Historic Timeline that allows visitors to virtually “stroll” through Ben Hur’s company history and learn about significant projects and achievements.
SteadyRain went through an in-depth consulting process with Ben Hur to learn about their business and their potential customer base to indentify needs and best determine how to create an online presence that would exceed their expectations. It was also necessary, however, to look beyond the initial scope so as to best accommodate Ben Hur’s future requirements as well.
The result of this collaborative effort between SteadyRain and Ben Hur is a cutting-edge website that has the ability to grow and improve, as well as be managed easily in-house due to the implementation of the DotNetNuke (DNN) Content Management System. Its user-friendly navigation includes iconic browsing, making it more visually dynamic and easy to use.
“This has been a tremendous task and accomplishment – one that we have not been able to get our hands around for 5+ years.” said Tom Schmidt, Vice President of Finance and CFO of Ben Hur Construction. “Kent took a personal interest and pride in the website and it shows.”
The Ben Hur Historic Timeline is the standout within the website. The innovative multimedia piece was designed and produced entirely by SteadyRain and includes an original musical score. It incorporates facts and images of notable, and sometimes famous, Ben Hur Construction achievements along the moving timeline allowing a visitor to select and reveal more information about the project.
“The website it a great tool and it will continuously evolve and adapt to our needs.” said Caruthers, “Further, we have established a relationship with SteadyRain that will ensure that whatever changes in the future that we wish to pursue beyond simple content management can be accomplished.” At a post-launch event, Caruthers further shared that the website has already generated incoming leads for the Ben Hur organization--“It’s just a matter of time before the return on this investment occurs . . . all it will take is a single project for us.”
