Xten Industries is Awarded Energy Grant & Continues to Reduce Carbon Footprint
Plastic injection molder wins state grant to complete energy efficiency projects.
Kenosha, WI, June 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Xten Industries, an award-winning plastic injection molder and contract manufacturer, has been awarded a 2009 Staffing Grant from Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s energy efficiency and renewable energy initiative.
Focus on Energy awarded these grants as part of a program to help businesses, manufacturers, farms, schools and government facilities throughout the state complete energy efficiency projects. Xten Industries, based in Kenosha, WI, was one of several businesses selected out of 36 applicants.
“Businesses don’t need to let staffing issues become a barrier to energy savings,” said Ken Williams, Focus on Energy’s Business Programs director. “Focus on Energy is committed to helping companies overcome barriers that prevent them from completing energy efficiency projects.”
The grant will fund Xten Industries’ continuing plans to manage energy efficiency projects. It provides Xten Industries with assistance in both identification and evaluation of energy saving opportunities and also the staff necessary to implement projects that might otherwise not be completed.
“This grant is intended to provide the manpower that lean organizations like Xten need to identify and manage projects that will have a dramatic impact on our energy consumption,” said Mark Dirr, Xten’s Director of Engineering. “We are focused on serving our customer base and these important projects cannot be allowed to sit idle waiting for the economy to improve. The offer of this grant proves that Focus on Energy is determined to help Wisconsin businesses make the transition to energy efficient/green technologies so everyone grows stronger.”
Grants awarded through the program can fund up to $80,000 to an individual company. Xten Industries was selected this year because it demonstrated the ability to implement energy efficiency measures with the help of the staffing grant. Winners are required to document each project with monthly and end of the year status reports and are eligible for other incentives to help offset the costs of energy efficiency projects.
