MPA Consulting to Handle Media Relations and Logistical Support for US & Cuba Symposium in Tampa, Florida on June 27th
Tampa, FL, June 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- MPA Consulting, Inc., of Brandon, Florida is handling media relations and providing logistical support for an educational seminar, "Rapprochement with Cuba: Good for Tampa Bay, Good for Florida, Good for America," on Saturday, June 27, 2009.
This seminar is being conducted at the Italian Club of Tampa (L'Unione Italiana) in conjunction with the Alliance for Responsible Cuba Policy Foundation, to stimulate dialogue on the various issues involving the ongoing embargo with Cuba.
Experts on United States Cuba policy will be in Tampa to address various issues in US/Cuba relations; including the role of Congress, the Obama Administration’s role for rapprochement, an update on “The Cuba Five”, doing business in Cuba today, the latest polling data, and other current information.
Some of the speakers will include Fernand Amandi, Vice President of the national polling firm Sergio Bendixen; Ambassador Jorge Bolanos, Chief of the Cuban Interests Section (by live video teleconference); U. S. Congressman Bill Delahunt, author of the “Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act”; Alfredo Duran, Veteran of the Bay of Pigs; Richard Klugh, Attorney for “The Cuba Five”; and Dr. Wayne Smith, professor Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and former Chief of Mission at the American Interests Section in Havana, Cuba.
Congressman Delahunt represents the Tenth Congressional District of Massachusetts and serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and is co-chair with Congressman Jeff Flake (R-Arizona) of the bipartisan House Cuba Working group. He recently introduced HR 874, the “Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act”, which has over 150 House co-sponsors and along with the companion Senate Bill 428 which has over 29 Senate co-sponsors would end the current ban on travel by Americans to Cuba.
“The invited guests at this forum will have a better understanding why rapprochement with Cuba is good for Tampa Bay, good for Florida, and good for America,” said retired United States Senator Dennis DeConcini, founder of the Alliance for Responsible Cuba Policy Foundation.
