Speed Networking Events Utilized to Aid Businesses and Job Seekers in Tough Economy
By growing demand, Speednetworx facilitates speed networking events in New Jersey and will be expanding to surrounding states to help business owners grow their companies and job seekers find jobs by utilizing creative networking techniques in this challenging economy.
Chester, NJ, June 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- With the tough economy effecting businesses and workforces, Speednetworx is assisting businesses and job seekers through speed networking events to help them become more successful. Speednetworx is having their next event for businesses on July 15th at The Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ at 5:30 pm.
Speed networking is similar to Speed dating. Professionals meet face to face for 3 minutes at a time, one on one at a table. At this three minute meeting introduction, they discuss their background, services, exchange business cards and how they each can help each other. Once the 3 minute meeting is finished, they rotate to the next seat to meet the next connection.
“In these tough times, professionals have no choice but to network. It’s about the human interaction and everyone helping each other. However, many feel intimidated by the traditional networking techniques. Most of the time there is a room of professionals and they are forced to mingle. However, many are too shy, gravitate towards the people they already know or do not have the ability to work the room. So many leave their networking events feeling more depressed and frustrated,” says Sondra Gleie, founder of Speednetworx. “With speed networking, it is a fun and direct way of interacting. You can make more effective long lasting business contacts in one night speed networking than you can in 5 months with the traditional methods.”
Speednetworx also provides an interesting networking technique during their speed networking events – “People Tagging”. People Tagging is done during the cocktail hour at the speed networking events. When attendees register, they are given a blank tag and are informed to write anything that comes to their mind to describe themselves or sets them apart– it can be a hobby, favorite food, and favorite vacation, almost anything. “People tagging really breaks the ice and allows people to start a conversation in a group setting. It allows the networkers to find a common interest or it is a conversation piece for the absurd.” says Gleie.
Speednetworx hold events in New Jersey and will be expanding in surrounding states. Speednetworx also provides industry specific speed networking events such as Career, Pharmaceutical, Insurance, Real Estate, IT, Finance, Human Resources and Healthcare.
