Enterprising Women Publisher and CEO Monica Smiley Receives National Honor from Women Presidents’ Organization
Raleigh, NC, June 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Enterprising Women magazine (www.enterprisingwomen.com) has announced that Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO, received the Adrienne Hall Award for Breaking Down Barriers at the 12th annual Women Presidents’ Organization Conference, held April 23-25 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego. Smiley, who is the first recipient of the award, was recognized for her efforts in helping WPO reach across economic, business, social, cultural and international barriers and making connections that are meaningful to WPO.
The award is named after Adrienne Hall, a former WPO board chair and the first woman to start an advertising company in the United States. A strong advocate of women’s rights, Hall contributed to the success and growth of WPO by making connections that allowed the organization to provide superior programming and continue expansion.
