Iconic Pop Band, Pet Shop Boys, Say “Yes” to crowdSPRING
Influential U.K. act taps online crowdsourcing model to create tour poster.
Chicago, IL, June 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- crowdSPRING, an online marketplace for creative services, announced today that one of the most iconic and influential pop acts in the world, Pet Shop Boys, will be using their site to create a poster for their North American Tour. In a career spanning more than two decades, Pet Shop Boys will return to the US spotlight to debut their new album, “Yes,” as well as a tour poster that is sure to match their creative style, which mixes innovative artistry with exuberant commercial appeal.
The project, which kicks off June 11, 2009, will be open to the 27,000 creatives from more than 140 countries, as well as any new designers interested in participating in creating a tour poster. Creatives will submit actual designs, not bids or proposals, based on the band’s description of what they’re looking for. Pet Shop Boys will then sort through entries with their longtime designer Mark Farrow and decide which design best fits their vision.
“As fans of Pet Shop Boys, our entire team is thrilled they chose crowdSPRING to help them design a poster for their North American Tour,” said Ross Kimbarovsky, co-founder of crowdSPRING. “It seems fitting that a band with a worldwide following would use a resource that taps into creatives from around the world to visually interpret the new sounds from Yes.”
With an award of $300, as well as product from the band including autographed limited edition merchandise and music, creatives interested in participating in the project can visit www.crowdspring.com.
