Short Sale Discussion Led by Foreclosure Response Team at 2009 NAR Midyear Expo in Washington, DC

Fort Lauderdale, FL, June 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- As part of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) 2009 Midyear Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo held in Washington, DC from May 11 – 16, the Foreclosure Response Team (FRT) coordinated leadership meetings and a roundtable discussion on the topic of “Short Sales.” The FRT is a national sales, marketing and technology company that provides loss mitigation services and expedites the sale of residential and commercial properties facing foreclosure, with a specialization in Short Sale transactions.

“Participating in NAR’s midyear meeting was important to the introduction and awareness of the Foreclosure Response Team’s nationwide systematic approach to Short Sales, in an effort to stop the flood of foreclosures and bankruptcy. We had the opportunity to discuss the challenges that agents and brokers are facing when handling a short sale and provide solutions,” said Scott Coloney, president of the Foreclosure Response Team.

Roundtable speakers included FRT area directors from around the country including Scott D. Coloney, president of the FRT nationwide; Kirk Heiden, executive director of FRT of Florida; Cathy Bittrick, FRT of Michigan, RE/MAX SunQuest and 2009 Regional Vice President of Ohio and Michigan for the NAR; Marc Cromier, FRT of Virginia and DC, RE/MAX Allegiance; Cheryl Auxier, FRT of Maryland, RE/MAX Allegiance; and Cathy McDaniel, FRT of Georgia, Head Training Instructor of American Real Estate University.

Organized as an open forum, a discussion between brokers and agents covered the current real estate climate in different markets. In addition, FRT area directors provided valuable information on the advantages of working together to help distressed homeowners.

Through FRT’s departmentalized structure, real estate agents are relieved of the cumbersome and complicated tasks associated with the administration, management and processing of Short Sale transactions, allowing them the opportunity to focus on the sale of the home. The Foreclosure Response Team is made up of a coalition of veteran real estate professionals in the areas of financial services, real estate law, credit consultation, sales & marketing and serves as an invaluable third-party resource for property owners, buyers and real estate agents alike.

With plans to form a network of Realtor affiliates in the market’s that the company has a presence, and to further expand its operations to the Georgia, DC, Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and California markets, during the conference, FRT met with leading brokers from around the country, representing over 2,500 agents. In addition, FRT directors met with various NAR leaders to discuss the opportunity to provide a turnkey system and tools for Realtors to facilitate short sales.

The key to NAR's policy advocacy success is the interaction of REALTOR® members with their U.S. Representatives and Senators. Members of Congress were available for personal meetings via appointment, providing Realtors the most effective means of communicating with lawmakers. Members of Congress listen to their constituents and recognize their opinions and perspectives to help shape important laws and policies. FRT Executive Director Kirk Heiden had the opportunity to meet with U.S. Congressman Ron Klein, who represents Florida’s 22nd Congressional District. During the meeting, Heiden and member of NAR approached Cong. Klein with observations and presented solutions regarding the state of the real estate market and how an efficient Short Sale system can help rebound the economy and stabilize home prices, in addition the issues of second mortgage holders and the difficulties they create with a short sale transaction.

The Foreclosure Response Team headquarters are located at 1507 East Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. For more information call Scott D. Coloney at 954-760-4888 or visit www.ForeclosureResponseTeam.com.
