Timberwolves Basketball Accommodates Food Allergic Fans
Minnesota Timberwolves Offers Food-Free Suite for Allergic Fans
Minneapolis, MN, February 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Anaphylaxis & Food Allergy Association of Minnesota (AFAA) and the Minnesota Timberwolves are partnering to promote a food-free suite in the Target Center on February 19, 2010. The Timberwolves will be playing against the Chicago Bulls at 7 p.m.
The luxury suite tickets have been discounted to $30 (normally $110). The Timberwolves mascot Crunch and Dance Team will visit food-allergic fans and their families in the suite during the game.
Allergic individuals can have reactions triggered by ingesting foods, or using utensils or eating foods cross-contaminated (i.e. having contact) with allergens. Reactions can range from hives to throat constriction, respiratory distress, vomiting, edema, blood pressure drop and shock. There is no cure for food allergies: avoidance is the only way to prevent an allergic reaction.
