Models from Icon Model Management in Toronto - Modeling for Totem Fashion Show in Toronto

Toronto, Canada, June 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Toronto's Century Room was hit with a heat wave when designer Fred D'Orey unleashed his new 2009 Summer line for Brazilian label,Totem. Fred D'Orey, who used to be one of the top surfers in Brazil, traveled to Tropicalia for inspiration for this collection. Icon Model Management had the pleasure of having their own models participating in the show. Keeping with the natural feel of the Brazilian tropics, the models walked barefoot down the runway paired with barely-there makeup. The line included bright colours, light fabrics, bubble hems and symmetrical lines. The geometrically patterned dresses and tops had a 60's pop feel to them while D'Orey also cleverly embraced florals, one of the hottest looks this summer. He captured that hidden sexuality with his pieces without being overtly sexual, using cuts above the knee, open backed dresses and one shouldered tops. Every piece flowed gracefully with any movement, demonstrating the ingenious construction of the clothing, establishing an undeniable versatility and comfort. If you think these clothes are just for models, you have got it wrong, these clothes are designed for anyone of any shape and size! The pieces were simplistic in their construction, bringing the natural, never-over-done quality of Brazilian culture. Several outfits were paired with key summer essentials including oversized totes, sunglasses, leather belts and extra wide-brimmed hats that evoked seduction and sensuality. Before the models walked for the finale, two Brazilian dancers put on an amazing performance up and down the runway where you could not help but be fascinated how they were keeping from falling in stilettos on the slick wooden floor. The show was an inspiration for this summer's fashion and we'll be looking forward to the collection gracing Toronto boutiques in 2010. Kudos to their girls that walked in the show, they were fantastic.
