Sister's & Company Hosts the "Feed Our Friends" Event to Benefit the United Food Bank of Plant City

Plant City, FL, June 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Sister’s & Company, a specialty store, in Plant City is hosting an event to benefit the United Food Bank of Plant City. The Feed our Friends Fashion Show will be held at the Red Rose Ballroom on July 23rd, at six thirty. Through this event many will have the opportunity to help those in need in the community.

The United Food Bank will also be nominated along with thousands of entries to be one of the National Grand Prize winners in the “America’s Hometown Heroes” event sponsored by Brighton. More than 700 specialty stores will participate in the event, including Sister’s & Company, which is located at 104 E. Reynolds in downtown Plant City.

During the event, attendees will have to opportunity to purchase hand strung jewelry with beautiful semi-precious by Brighton. In keeping with the tradition of offering something that is more than a collection of beautiful pieces of jewelry, Brighton has introduced a limited edition collection of American Heroes jewelry as a way of giving us the opportunity to support the heroes among us who are feeding the people who suffer from hunger in our very own community, heroes like Kelleigh Klein and everyone at the United Food Bank of Plant City.

For each piece of jewelry sold during the event, Brighton will donate to 501 (C) (3) charities, which will be selected from local organizations throughout the U.S. These organizations must be led by one or more American Heroes who are dedicated to feeding people in need. Sister’s & Company needs your help and support by helping them nominate Kelleigh and the United Food Bank of Plant City. Organizations will be chosen by September 30, 2009 and will receive a portion of Brighton’s charitable contribution of $7.50 for each necklace sold, $5 for each bracelet sold, and $2.50 for each pair of earrings sold. Sister’s & Company is involved in the same effort by matching Brighton’s contributions directly benefitting the United Food Bank of Plant City. By buying and wearing this jewelry designed to be a symbol of eliminating hunger, you will help to put food in the mouths of many people who never thought they would have to ask for help.

Devony of Sister’s adds, “Chances are, you know someone who will go to bed hungry tonight – it could be a neighbor, or even your child’s classmate. When we heard that one in ten households in the United States experience hunger and close to one in eight Americans struggle to feed themselves, it broke our hearts. This number is more than unacceptable when these people are children, our neighbors, and our friends.”
