About Chuck Evans
Chuck is a partner in the Accounting Principles Group of Grant Thornton’s National Professional Standards Group. His responsibilities include advising offices throughout the firm on current accounting and financial reporting matters. From 2002 – 2003, he served as the Regional Director of Professional Standards for Grant Thornton’s Central Cluster. Prior to that time, Chuck was an assurance partner in the Houston office and served as the office’s Professional Standards Partner.
Experience
Chuck has over 25 years of public accounting experience. His Securities and Exchange Commission experience has included involvement with numerous initial public offerings and secondary offerings, including involvement of the resolution of accounting issues with the SEC. He has served on Working Groups for Emerging Issues Task Force issues and has participated in roundtables and resource groups for the Financial Accounting Standards Board and SEC, including serving as a member of the FASB’s FAS 123(R) Resource Group.
Chuck’s primary area of focus has included a large number of public companies in a variety of industries including manufacturing and distribution, energy and financial services.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Chuck is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and their Accounting Standards Executive Committee and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
