New e-Learning System for Franchise Companies
Franchise companies can take advantage of a new web-based e-Learning system for their training programs, webSolve, LLC announced today. Specializing in bringing e-Learning to franchisors, webSolve is now offering the the SCORM-compliant Open Learning Environment system.
Columbus, OH, August 18, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Continuing its quest to bring powerful but economic e-Learning systems to franchisors, webSolve, LLC and its team leader, Jim Meaney, announced today that webSolve is offering a new web-based learning management system for franchise companies—the Open Learning Environment learning system.
“First and foremost,” according to Meaney, “the Open Learning Environment system, OLE for short, is SCORM compliant.”
SCORM or The Shareable Content Object Reference Model has become the standard in learning management systems. It is based on previously developed standards by the Aviation Industry CBT Committee. With full SCORM-compliance, the OLE system allows franchisors and other companies to use, re-purpose, and reuse content created within the OLE system with other course-compliant elements from other content publishers.
While Meaney does not believe that every franchise system needs a SCORM-compliant learning system, he says “for those franchise companies that are technically oriented in their training systems or wish to deliver their courses on a number of different platforms, the OLE system will meet their every need.”
OLE is featured on www.elearning4franchisors.com, webSolve’s website devoted exclusively to franchise companies and e-Learning. “OLE is a great complement to our Global Learning System and other web-based tools that can bring a franchise system’s training into the 21st century. Many franchise companies train new, younger learners who grew up learning on computers. Traditional classroom training is becoming as inefficient as pen and paper did in the late-20th century. Franchisors are losing ground by relying exclusively on classroom and book training,” Meaney said.
Doug Schust, a WSI Internet Consultant who consults with webSolve, indicated that “Jim and the webSolve team have a solid background in franchising and understand how to effectively apply our learning management systems to this dynamic market. Our systems, OLE and the Global Learning System, offer franchisors sophisticated choices at an excellent price point. Jim knows that franchise systems have their own content that, with our technology, can be easily adapted to a web-based learning system—which has led to webSolve’s tagline—your content + our technology™.”
The OLE system is a web-based software application developed by Voloper Creations, Inc. (a Toronto-based software production company in the WSI system) for corporate training dedicated to enhancing the teaching and learning experience. Intuitive and easy to use, the OLE system has powerful capabilities in three key areas: instruction, interaction and evaluation.
A demo of the OLE system will be available on www.elearning4franchisors.com site in a few weeks. In the meantime, Meaney suggests franchise companies visit the site to view the Global Learning System demos and to acquaint themselves with the benefits and attributes of e-Learning for franchise systems.
