Severe weather will batter parts of India, the Philippines, and Mexico making travel difficult at best.
Warrenton, VA, June 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- e-Travel Technologies Inc – 911Concierge.com is advising travelers, through their newly launched executive travel weather alerts service, that along the southwestern coast of Mexico, central and northern Philippines, and the coastal region of Gujarat, India of severe weather events that may impact travel to those regions.
Along the southwestern Pacific coast of Mexico, Tropical Storm Andres is battering the coastline with torrential rains and large waves. As of 8:00 am PDT, Hurricane Warnings have been issued by the Mexican government along the southwestern coast from Punto San Telmo and Cabo Corrientes. Forecasters are calling for Andres to increase in strength later today to a Category 1 hurricane before weakening back to tropical storm strength. The center of the storm is expected to skirt or pass over Mexico’s southwestern coastline before moving back out into the Pacific.
“The immediate threat from Andres will be heavy rains of 4 to 8 inches causing minor to moderate flooding for the southwestern coastal region of Mexico along with travel delays in and out of the region while the storm passed by.” explains Matt Swinden, Global Weather Director for e-Travel Technologies Inc – 911Concierge.com
Over the Pacific in the Philippines, Tropical Storm Nangka is battering the Visayas island region of the Philippines before tracking northward towards Luzon.
“Travel for the next day or so will be difficult within the Philippines as ferry services between the islands has been halted by the coast guard,” says Swinden. “Hundreds of travelers have been stranded in the Visayas island ports due to the tropical storm. Air travel in an out of Manila will most likely be impacted Wednesday as Nangka travels northward.”

Even though this storm has not become a tropical cyclone, officials in India have issued a Cyclone Warning for the coastal region of south Gujarat and north Konkan for the next 24 hours.
