San Rafael, CA, June 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Plath & Co demonstrates excellent eco-friendly methods
Plath & Company, a general contracting firm dedicated to construction and renovation of fine residential, commercial and historic structures has become a member of the Bay Area Green Business Program. The program is a voluntary partnership that recognizes and promotes businesses that demonstrate continuous compliance with applicable environmental regulations, conserve energy, water, and other materials, implement sound environmental practices that prevent pollution and waste generation, and share environmentally responsible practices with other businesses in our community. There are currently over 600 certified Green Businesses located in Marin, Sonoma, San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara Counties.
In order to be considered for membership, Plath & Co completed a checklist of required and voluntary measures that are to be implemented to prevent pollution and conserve resources. The measures include specific ways to reduce remodeling and paper waste, recycle or reuse materials, conserve energy and water, and prevent pollution both at the job site and in the office.
After the application and checklist were completed and reviewed, a Bay Area Green Business Program representative and a team of technical experts were sent to both the Plath & Co office and a job site to assess the levels of sustainability and ensure that all measures were met. The project observed demonstrated numerous environmentally friendly methods such as the use of tankless water heaters, cotton for insulation, and salvaged building materials.
