Taste of Crete a Sponsor in the Third Annual Los Angeles Greek Film Festival June 25-28th 2009
Taste of Crete, a gourmet food company focused on the healthy diet of Crete, Greece will be one of the sponsors at the LA Greek Film Festival in Los Angeles, California which features new films from Greek filmmakers around the world.
Hillsborough, NJ, June 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The third annual LA Greek Film Festival will be held between June 25-28, 2009 at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The festival was founded to publicize Greek Cinema and cultural exchange while connecting the gap between many Greek filmmakers and Hollywood. Angeliki Giannakopoulos is the co-founder of this wonderful Greek Film Festival. She is also the director for the documentary, “My Child: Mothers of War” and in other movies, as well.
There will be many feature films, documentaries, and short films showing at the festival. Nia Vardalos will be having the world premier of her latest movie, “I Hate Valentines Day” on Saturday. In addition, there will also be Orpheus Awards which will be given for the most outstanding new films in the dramatic, documentary, and short film categories. Outstanding Greek American Actors are also honored. At the first annual festival, Olympia Dukakis won the award, and for the second year, Phedon Paramichael, had won the award. The hostess for this event will be Debbie Matenopoulos, from E! Network’s Daily 10 show.
Taste of Crete, a New Jersey located gourmet food company, whose Taste of Crete PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil, from Greece, won a Gold Medal in the International Olive Oils of the World Competition, will be one of the sponsors at the LA Greek Film Festival once again. Each celebrity will be receiving a gift bag containing the Ta Mylelia Smoked Eggplant Paste. In addition, Taste of Crete’s Evangelia’s Traditional Greek Olive Oil Cookies will be featured at the opening night gala.
