St John’s Wood Housing Market Best for Six Months, According to Winkworth Estate Agents (St John’s Wood)

Winkworth estate agents in St John’s Wood has reported their best month for six months in terms of enquiries and sales.

London, United Kingdom, June 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Enquiries are up 30% compared to any month in the last six and sales have also seen a dramatic increase. Coupled with this, Winkworth St John’s Wood is also experiencing a shortage of stock. The office now has 10% less stock on their books than six months ago.

Richard Woolf, director of Winkworth estate agents on St John’s Wood Terrace says, ‘The spring has heralded a huge and welcome improvement in buyer sentiment, leading to a large number of good quality enquiries and sales.

‘Contract races are back and prices are firm at many price points in the market. If this rosy scenario continues, prices will probably begin to rise soon, although the trend is unlikely to be even.’

Demand is increasing partly due to a lack of stock and partly due to the return of buyers to the market, who have been sitting on the fence, waiting for the right time to purchase.

Research conducted by the Winkworth group shows that the number of viewings required to sell a property reached an all time high in January and February, as buyers started to show renewed interest in property, but weren’t yet confident enough to purchase. In the last two months, the research shows that the number of viewings required to sell a property has reduced substantially, as property demand has heightened.
