African Safari Club Tour Operator - Supports Kenyan Communities
London, United Kingdom, June 28, 2009 --(PR.com)-- African Safari Club, the Kent based tour and cruise operator has been praised by charity organisations working to improve education and health in the rural Kenyan communities. M.E.A.K – Medical and Educational Aid to Kenya- a UK based charity run by volunteers, said of African Safari Club:
“MEAK receives tremendous support from African Safari Club, who regularly carries everything from a needle to a heart and lung machine on their weekly flights and... also offers free flights for the MEAK medical teams. Without the support of African Safari Club, MEAK’s works would be seriously curtailed.”
African Safari Club was awarded the first ever M.E.A.K certification in recognition of the money and resources donated to the charity and their support has not stopped there. Brave staff member Alex Campbell climbed to the 19,000ft summit of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds and increase awareness for the Kenyan children’s charity; The Samson Chivatsi African Children's Appeal. Staff and customers donated incredibly generously through the African Safari Club website and Just Giving.
The SCA was founded in 1998 by couple Maureen and Ian McIntyre. Following a holiday in Kenya the couple were motivated to improve the educational and health opportunities for Kenyan children. Establishing a school in Utange, near Mozambique, the couple provide education and vaccinations to the local children and were commended by the Kenyan vaccination officer for having healthiest children they had seen.
African Safari club have been supporting M.E.A.K and SCA since 2005, the business has over 40 years experience in providing: African Safaris, Kenya Holidays and Nile Cruises.
