S.O.E Stands Up for KIDS
On August, 2, 2009 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m Belle Isle will become a runway in celebration of Detroit’s own S.O.E Model company, Identity Studio, several local entertainers, and Hair Salons. The 1st Annual Style on the Isle will serve as a fund raiser for SOE for Youth program which seeks to provide positive opportunities for our youth and build the Detroit Fashion Industry.

Current statistics estimate that there are nearly one and a half million kids, teens, and young adults living on the nation's streets. Hard to believe, especially in a country as wealthy and prosperous as America. Organizations like S.O.E for Youth, which assists local at-risk and homeless youth
through on-the-streets efforts, as well as deterrence and resource programs in schools and online.
One of the great things about S.O.E for Youth program is that it isn't just an organization with a cool mission statement; this charitable organization is actually doing things in the community. This event is designed to raiseawareness of various youth-oriented services and organizations, the outdoor event will be held from 12-3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug 2 at Shed 16 at Belle Isle in Downtown Detroit.
Attendees of this 1st Annual event can expect a wide range of activities, including:
On-stage entertainment with musical acts, dance performances, and a Children’s fashion show. As well as face painting, educational workshops, and youth empowerment. Plus you can bring food and beverages and have your own picnic.
This free, day-long event is a great way for kids of all ages to meet new people, relax, and discover the numerous community programs and resources available to them. The main purpose for this event is to help rally the local Detroit citizen’s through this especially difficult economic depression. With more and more businesses and schools closing in Michigan everyday. This fundraising event seeks to donate school supplies to 100 girls and boys in preparation for the new school year. Therefore providing an opportunity to reclaim our City, our Communities, and our Children.
Not familiar with S.O.E Modeling Company they were founded in 1990 and the non-profit organization is run entirely by volunteers from the community.
