Kenneth Walker Dance Project's "Mortgaged Dreams" Features New Contemporary Works, Collaborations, and Guests Artists at CSULB's Martha B. Knoebel Dance Theatre
KWDP, a contemporary ballet company, premieres new works along with audience favorites for the fifth season in a row. "Mortgaged Dreams" will showcase "Gate" set to the avant-garde music of Italian composer, Mario Salvucci. A new work with music composed for the company by Wes Hambright, Kenneth's playful "Ease of Euphoria" and the athletic "Focus on the Middle Distance will highlight the evening.
Long Beach, CA, July 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Kenneth Walker Dance Project (KWDP), a contemporary ballet company and Lester Horton Award nominee, based in Southern California , premieres new works along with audience favorites for the fifth season in a row.
The evening entitled Mortgaged Dreams will be performed one night only.

Tickets are $14 in advance, $17 at the door, $10 for students/seniors.

The evening will be full of music created for Kenneth Walker Dance Project showcasing Gate set to the avant-garde music of Italian composer, Mario Salvucci. A new work with music composed for the company by Wes Hambright will highlight the evening. Also on the program are Kenneth’s playful Ease of Euphoria and the athletic Focus on the middle Distance with music by DJ Just Honey. The company will be joined by two guest companies, BARE and Hart Pulse, to round out the event.
Kenneth Walker Dance Project, comprised of dancers from Southern California , is a vehicle for nationally recognized choreographer and Long Beach native Kenneth Walker. KWDP appeared at the prestigious Piccolo Spoleto Festivals in Charleston , South Carolina in 2006 and 2007, the AAPHERD Southeast Conference in Virginia and the 2008 American Dance Guild Festival in New York . KWDP has also appeared at the Los Angeles Dance Invitational, Palm Desert Dance Under the Stars, Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica , and Central Coast Summerfest in Monterey , California . Mr. Walker’s choreography has been well received. John Meehan former director Hong Kong Ballet, described Walker’s Savage Grace as “…a fun piece, full of energy with some nice choreographic invention;” and, Alun Jones, former director of Louisville Ballet called Savage Grace “tremendous.”
