In Response to the Current Economic Climate, Amazing Voyages Have Launched a Number of New Discounted Tours Throughout Latin America
London, United Kingdom, July 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- This Peru Highlights tour includes visits to Lima, Cuzco, Machu Picchu & Lake Titicaca.

Day 1: Lima
Upon arrival in Lima, receive a reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Lima - Cuzco (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax and acclimatise.

Day 3: Cuzco (B)
After a free morning, this afternoon, enjoy a group guided visit to the four ruins nearby; the Sacsayhuaman Fortress overlooking the city of Cuzco, Kenko, a rock sanctuary whose main attraction is the monolithic altar representing a puma, the red Fortress of Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, a beautiful fountain fed by a spring forming a series of basins. Continue to the city of Cuzco visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun.

Day 4: Cuzco - Sacred Valley - Cuzco (B&L)
Today take a full day excursion to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit the colonial village of Pisac, where on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays local Indians barter their products, and artisans from all over the area sell woven alpaca ponchos, engraved gourds, antique reproductions and jewellery. On Sundays Pisac is the meeting place for the local Mayors of the region, who come dressed in their traditional costumes to attend morning mass. After a buffet lunch, visit Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town which is still inhabited. Explore the ruins above Ollantaytambo before returning to Cuzco via the traditional market town of Chinchero.

Day 5: Cuzco – Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu (B&L)
Take an early transfer to the railway station in Poroy for the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, transfer to the bus terminal for the short ride up to Machu Picchu. You will join a guided group visit of the most spectacular ancient city in the world; this fabulous city contains houses, temples, warehouses and a large central square, all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side. After the tour, take some free time to enjoy this spiritual wonder or choose an optional guided trek up to the sun gate (Intipunku), part of the Inca Trail, for a magical view of the sanctuary, or alternatively choose an unguided climb to the top of Wayna Picchu, with a magnificent view of the whole site. A complimentary lunch is included at the Sanctuary Lodge which is the only option for a good quality meal whilst at Machu Picchu.

Day 6: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu – Cuzco (B)
Today offers an opportunity to return to Machu Picchu for a more personal appreciation of this wonder. Return this afternoon by train to Cuzco and transfer to your hotel.

Day 7: Cuzco - Puno (B&L)
Take a tourist bus journey across the stunning altiplano to Puno, visiting several archaeological sites along the way including Raqchi, the tallest Inca monument ever built. Puno lies on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, and is the folkloric capital of Peru. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Day 8: Islands of Lake Titicaca (B&L)
Today enjoy a full day excursion to the islands of Uros and Taquile. Uros is a group of islands made entirely of tortora reeds, home to a small community dating back to a pre-Inca culture. The inhabitants of Taquile are more closely related to the Aymara people of Bolivia than the Quechua people of Peru. A simple lunch on the island will be prepared by the locals before returning to Puno.

Day 9: Puno – Lima (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Juliaca airport for your return flight to Lima, enjoying a complimentary guided tour of the Sillustani towers en-route. These ancient funereal towers date back to pre-Inca times and are examples of the most ancient cultures found on the altiplano.
