Two Failed Burglaries End in Sonitrol Pacific Detection and Arrest

Portland, OR, July 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Police caught a burglar suspected of targeting a Portland home design studio two days in a row due to detection by Sonitrol Pacific June 28.

The first attempted break-in at Dolan Design occurred June 27. Operator Michael Young received the security system activation from a warehouse door and called police. A representative from the business called Young to let him know a window had been broken, but the suspect fled before police arrived. Nothing appeared to be missing.

June 28, Operator Eric Muha received an alarm from the store and called police. Officers responded and had a suspect in custody within minutes. After his arrest, the man confessed to breaking the window the previous night too.

Security video from Dolan Design is being reviewed for use as additional evidence against the suspect.

To date, 27 suspects have been arrested this month due to detection by Sonitrol Pacific. Ninety suspected burglars, trespassers and vandals have been arrested in 2009 and, since 1978, 5,111 suspects have been arrested due to Sonitrol Pacific electronic security.
